In 2017, Edward Majerczyk was charged and pleaded guilty to one count of "unauthorized access to a protected computer to obtain information." Majerczyk admitted that he broke into more than 300 iCloud account belonging to famous personalities in order to illegally access and leak private photographs. These images included celebrity's nude selfies and other sensitive images which were eventually posted on private websites such as 4chan or Reddit.
